Reckless driving causes three deaths

In an accident in the Nugayaya area, three people from the same family died last night.

 

A drunken driver of a Bolero cab has collided with a three-wheeler which was driven by a 44-year-old Police Sergeant.

 

His wife (42) and his 70-year-old father and the driver himself died in the accident. Their 11-year-old child has been admitted to the Monaragala Base Hospital with serious injuries.

 

The investigation has revealed that the driver's reckless driving caused the accident and he has been identified as someone without a valid driving license.

 

The incident occurred in Wellawaya-Thanamalwila road.
