Strict warnings for drunk drivers from Sri Lanka Police

Sri Lanka Police made an announcement that a special operation will be conducted to arrest people driving under the influence of alcohol during the festive season.

 

According to Police spokesman, SSP Nihal Thalduwa, special measures have been taken for this special task. 167,000 breathalyzers are to be distributed all over the country in order to test drunk drivers from 07th April.

 

SSP Thalduwa requested the public to ensure their safety by adhering to the law.

 

Moreover, several roadblocks will also be set up across the country for the identification purpose of the criminals. In addition, he said that the Police will also engage in day and night mobile patrol services and also set up checkpoints to ensure security during the April New Year season.
