Prevailing showery condition over the island is expected to continue further during the next few days as well.

 

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island after 1.00 pm.

 

Showers may occur in coastal areas of the Western province and in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Puttalam, Galle and Matara districts during the morning too.

 

Fairly heavy showers of about 100 mm are likely at some places in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa district. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places elsewhere over the island.

 

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
