Stock clearance issues with the imported eggs

Without the required certificates for the clearance of recently imported shipment of eggs from the port, a number of issues have arisen according to The State Trading Corporation (STC).

 

The Department of Animal Production and Health was supposed to issue the clearance certificate after a sample test.

 

Due to this issue, the stock of eggs could not be duly distributed as per plans, STC Chairman Asiri alleged.

 

Although the reports of the samples from the imported eggs were to be released to be on Monday they will be only released this Friday. Sri Lanka is also expecting another 5 million eggs from India.
