Will the surgeries be discontinued without anaesthesiologists?

The shortage of anaesthesiologists has been a serious issue in Embilipitiya District General Hospital since all emergency surgeries have been suspended thus far.

 

This is one of the major hospitals available for the people living not only in Ratnapura but also in Hambantota, Matale and Monaragala districts.

 

Two of the anaesthesiologists have expatriated causing this situation. The one who was temporarily available has also left the country for training. The director of the hospital has to transfer patients to other hospitals for surgeries and intensive care treatment.
