Harthal in several places to protest against the Anti-Terrorism Bill

Forcing the government to withdraw the proposed Anti-Terrorism Bill, a Hartal is staged by political parties and civil society organizations in the North. All shops in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu, Mannar and Vavuniya districts support the Harthal and public transport had been disabled due to the suspension of inter-provincial private bus services. 

 

SLTB buses continue to run as per the usual time but the shortage of public transport caused difficulties to the passengers. 

 

According to the principals, schools were open as usual although there was a low attendance.
