A 19-year-old youth dies in an accident, 9 individuals sustain injuries

In an accident that took place near a paddy field in Thotagamuwa, Matale, one youth died while 09 others sustained injuries in an accident early this morning (April 08).

 

According to the reporters, a jeep had crashed into a tree as the driver lost control of the vehicle. All 9 individuals who were inside the vehicle with the driver (10) were admitted to the Matale Hospital. One who succumbed to injuries was a 19-year-old resident in Palapathwala in Thotagamuwa.

 

The group had been on the way from a get-together at a hotel in the area. The group of students had sat for the 2022 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination. Matale Police is conducting further investigations.
