The falling price of eggs reduces the price of bakery products

The All Ceylon Bakery Owners' Association (ACBOA) said the falling price of eggs to Rs.35 can reduce the price of bakery products apart from bread.
According to ACBOA Chairman N.K. Jayawardana, the consignment of eggs from India will be a solution to the problems in the egg market. "Bakeries and hotels are still buying eggs at Rs. 55 each.
The shortage of eggs in the market is clear since there are no eggs in retail shops to buy," he said.
Some claim that the bakery industry has never reduced prices due to any fuel price reductions in the country.
However, according to N.K. Jayawardana, the fuel price reductions do not affect bakery production although they hope to pass the benefits on bakery products from the fuel price reductions to the people soon.
