Five individuals were arrested for abducting a TV director

The Welimada police arrested Five individuals for their involvement in the abduction and physical assault of renowned film and TV director, Gamini Priyantha. According to the authorities, while the director was strolling in Welimada town, he was abducted and attacked by four people who arrived in a van. Subsequently, he was battered and left by the side of the road.

The suspects’ van, which was employed during the abduction, has been confiscated by the police. After conducting an investigation, it was revealed that the abduction and assault have been resulted from a personal disagreement with a local resident of Welimada, concerning the production of a drama.
