40 fuel stations are suspended for not contributing the QR quota

 40 fuel stations are suspended for not contributing the QR quota

The Minister of Power and Energy; Kanchana Wijesekera said that a decision has been taken to suspend the licenses of 40 fuel stations that have continued not to adhere to the National Fuel Pass QR quotas. He made this statement on 06th Thursday.

 

According to Minister Wijesekera, the decision had been taken during a progress review meeting with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) management and officers this morning.

 

He also conveyed that further decisions had been made to request fuel stations to maintain a minimum of 50% of stock tank capacity.

 

In addition, the minister detailed that GPS tracking systems will be fixed on all CPC-owned fuel tankers by the 15th of April. Further implementations for all private tankers also will be conducted.
