Weather Alert - Public to be vigilant to minimize damages due to strong winds and lightning during thundershowers

Showers are expected in the Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces, as well as Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts. In the North-Western Province, there will be few rains.

Strong gusty winds of up to 50-60 kilometers per hour are possible on the western slopes of the Central hills, and gusty winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour are possible in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, Western, and Southern provinces.
