Now that Pfizer has arrived, vaccine mixing will begin soon

Following receipt, yesterday (5) of a batch of 26,000 Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine doses, which will likely be used as the second dosage for people who received the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine as their first dose, the mixing of Covid-19 vaccinations is expected to begin soon in Sri Lanka.

According to Health Ministry Communications Director, Public Health Services Deputy Director-General, and Disaster Preparedness and Response Division Head Dr. Hemantha Herath, Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Asela Gunawardena will release guidelines regarding the administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine doses within the next two days.
