Warnings are issued for thundershowers and strong lightning

The Meteorological Department has issued a special warning for thundershowers and heavy rains in several provinces and districts.

 

Thundershowers will develop at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Central and North-western provinces and in the Mannar, Badulla, Galle and Matara districts.

 

There may be temporary strong winds in those areas during thundershowers. The public is kindly requested to take necessary steps to minimize the dangers caused by lightning.
