Vehicles sponsored by the ADB for COVID control in provinces

Minister of Health Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi gave nine Nissan Urvan vans to provinces yesterday with the goal of maintaining COVID control and enhancing health systems.

 

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Health System Improvement Project financed these vans, which cost roughly Rs. 90 million and were coordinated by the Ministry of Health.

 

The Ministry of Health has taken steps to provide these vans to the Central Province's Kandy, Matale, and Nuwara Eliya districts, the North Central Province's Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts, the Uva Province's Badulla and Moneragala districts, and the Sabaragamuwa Province's Ratnapura and Kegalle districts.

 

The event was also attended by Maj. Gen. Specialist Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Director General of Health Systems Dr. Anil Dissanayake, and Director of the Health System Improvement Project.
