The Russian Sputnik vaccines are now been rolled out

The initial batch of vaccinations will be made to those from the Gothoutuwa area. State Minister of Health Prof Channa Jayasumana said that persons between the ages of 30 to 60 will receive the Russia-made Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine starting May 06.

 

Fifteen thousand doses of the jab arrived in the island on May 04 for a trial rollout. Meanwhile, Prof.Channa Jayasumana accused SJB MP Dr. Rajitha Senaratne for creating a baseless public opinion against the use of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine. He told Parliament that Dr. Senaratne did it through his cronies in the health sector.
