Lankan fishermen told to halt contact with Indians

Sri Lankan fishermen were yesterday advised to stay away from their Indian counterparts while out at sea owing to the Covid-19 threat. The Sri Lankan fish workers have also been told to halt all trade activities with the Indians which includes the illegal smuggling of narcotics and other merchandise.

 

They have also been told to strictly adhere to the health guidelines at all times while out at sea. The warning comes after the navy yesterday put to the torch a large haul of Cannabis found inside a prawn farm and believed to have been smuggled into the country from neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
