Reopening of Universities further delayed

The Government has been forced to delay the reopening of universities in view of the increase in the number of COVID19 cases,  Minister of Minister of Education Prof. G.L. Peiris announced in Parliament today. 

 

The decision was reached taking into account the directives of the Director-General of Health Service, he said. He said the decision was taken for a two week period,  but situation would be reviewed again. The government last week decided to reopen all universities from Monday.
