Four brothels busted

Three managers and 11 female sex workers were rounded up on Wednesday following a raid on four brothels at Maharagama, Wattegedera, Polwatte, and Pamunuwa, police said.

 

The brothels operated as health clinics but there were no medical personnel to endorse this claim, police said. The women charged between Rs. 3,000 to 5, 000 from each client depending on service requirements.

 

The women aged between 18 and 48 are residents of Kurunegala, Elpitiya, Kalutara, Borella and Maharagama, police added. The investigators have found that the women had claimed to their families that they were employed in luxury hotels in the Metropolis.
