Punishment given to Ranjan is too severe - Dullas Alahapperuma

Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Mass Media and Information Dullas Alahapperuma said that Ranjan Ramanayake had made a mistake but he had been punished for it and that the abolition of his popularly elected Member of Parliament was a serious punishment.

Dullas Alahapperuma also said that he personally thinks that the punishment given to Ranjan Ramanayake is more severe.

The Minister has expressed these views at a media briefing held yesterday regarding the release of Ranjan Ramanayake.
