President says that the state will provide full support to save Theravada Buddhism

 

Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe says that he will ensure that maximum state support will be given to Theravada Buddhism to bequeath it to future generations and spread it all over the world.

He also emphasized the importance of translating the series of books translated into Sinhala, English, German, French and Spanish and pointed out that by doing so, Theravada Buddhism can be spread to Western countries as well.

President Wickremesinghe also mentioned that necessary provisions can be allocated through the Ministry of Buddhasasana. Moreover, the head of state pointed out that the use of all these translations can be increased by releasing them on social media and also explained the possibility of starting a separate center together with the Ministry of Buddhasasana to carry out these activities formally.
