Belarus, Sri Lanka agree to increase ties in business and education

Belarus and Sri Lanka have identified ways to intensify ties in business and education.

BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in India that the matter was discussed during the work visit of the Belarusian Ambassador to India with concurrent accreditation of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal Andrei Rzheussky to Sri Lanka.

On February 1, the Belarusian diplomat held meetings with the Parliament, the Ministry of Justice, institutions of Sri Lanka's prison system and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. On February 2, the Ambassador held a number of meetings with the leadership of Sri Lankan government agencies and chambers of commerce.

During Andrei Rzheussky's meeting with Sri Lanka's Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha and Sri Lanka's Deputy Minister of Technology Prof. Niranjan Gunawardena, the Sri Lankan representatives expressed their interest in expanding cooperation with Belarus in engineering, agriculture, information, and professions.
