Permission to sell liquor to foreign tourists

The Excise Department has allowed the sale of liquor only to foreign tourists at selected tourist hotels and specially licensed locations.

Deputy Commissioner of Excise Kapila Kumarasinghe said that according to the Biosafety Bubble Scheme, only visiting foreigners will be allowed to operate only special types of excise licenses.
