PHIs will go on strike from Monday. (05)

The Public Health Inspectors' Union has chosen to go on strike starting Monday (05) to protest the government's decision to meet one trade union's requests while rejecting the demands of other affiliated trade unions.

The President's recent decision to provide solutions to the requests of the Public Services United Nurses Union, according to Union Head Upul Rohana, has caused a major injustice to other connected trade unions.

Union head further has stated that as a result, the Joint Council of Professions Supplementary to Medicine, the Public Health Inspectors Union, and other associated trade unions have decided to stop working as of last night and begin a strike on Monday.
