Large gatherings to be prohibited during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year

The Government has stated that large gatherings will be prohibited during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

 

As per the sources, the above decision has been reached to control the spread of the coronavirus.

 

State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control, Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle has siad that the  Government is not keen to enforce travel restrictions during the period as it  will  prevent families from being united during the festival.
