JVP environmentalists are spreading fake news

President Gothbaya Rajapaksa said that he was elected for 60 months and now 14 months have passed by and he should first deliver on the promises he has made and then the people will decide.

 

The president was referring to speculations if would go for a second term. He made these comments when he the villagers of Walapane.

 

He had strong words for the environmentalists who are making claims of deforestation.

 

‘The JVP environmentalists are carrying false propaganda and putting it in the facebook.  There are claims that another tree has got extinct in the Sinharaja forest    and the image published is of a tree in the city of Ohisa India.

 

He said ‘Do not be fooled by this”.
The president said that he has done so much for the environment and gave numerous examples.
