Kandy Building Collapse Incident : Infant rescued dies

The baby rescued from the collapsed building incident in Buwelikada in Kandy  has died while receiving treatment at the Kandy Hospital.

 

A five-storied building caved-in  and  collapsed on to an adjoining building, early this morning (September 20), trapping five people, including an infant,  in the adjoining building.

 

Three individuals including the infant  were rescued following a rescue operation.

 

Two more individuals are currently reported missing and the search operations are underway to locate them.
