13th COVID-19 death reported in SL

The Department of Government Information stated that a 60 year old seaman who was undergoing quarantine after returning from Bahrain, passed away, raising the death toll from the virus to 13 in the country.

 

The said person passed away at the Chilaw Hospital this evening (September 14).

 

At the point of  his arrival, the above individual had not been identified as COVID-19 patient.

 

He had been admitted to the Chilaw Hospital over an illness, on September 9.
