Israel agrees to recruit 2,000 female caregivers from Sri Lanka this year

A special delegation from Israel visiting Sri Lanka has assured Labor and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara that 2000 job opportunities will be provided from Sri Lanka this year.
The delegation including Shiely Raisin Sason, Director of Population and Migration Agency of Israel and members Zindani Mary, Yaccow Kabilau, Margarita Gaorodnitsky met with Minister Manusha Nanayakkara today.
In this meeting, the Minister requested the delegation to provide more job opportunities for deacons from Sri Lanka and in response, the delegation assured the Minister that 2000 women deacons will be recruited from Sri Lanka this year.
According to the existing culture in Israel, women have more opportunities for patient care, and the opportunities for male caregivers are very limited, and accordingly, the delegation requested the minister to give priority to women in providing training.
