In four districts, 14 new patients with the Delta variation have been identified in SL

According to Dr. Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director of Health Services, 14 new patients of the feared Indian form known as Delta have been found in the country.

Patients have been found in Colombo, Galle, Matara, and Trincomalee, among other places.

After genetic sequencing was performed on 142 samples collected across the island, it was established that these patients were infected with the Delta strain.
