Heavy showers and thundershowers exceeding 100 mm will occur in the Galle, Matara districts and in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northwestern provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at other places during the evening or night, the Met Department said.

Winds will be 40-50 kmph in the Hambantota district. The Meteorological Department warns that action should be taken to minimize the damage caused by lightning and wind.
