Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Uva, Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening, the Met Department said.

Showers or thundershowers at times in the Sabaragamuwa, Western Provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Winds will be 40-50 kmph in the Hambantota, Trincomalee districts and on the western slopes of the Central Highlands, North, North Central and North Western provinces.

The Meteorological Department urges the public to take necessary measures to minimize the damage caused by lightning and wind.
