With the activation of the southwest monsoon, the rainfall in the southwestern part of the island may increase.

Heavy showers or thundershowers exceeding 100 mm are likely in the Galle, Matara districts and in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northwestern provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Uva and Eastern Provinces during the evening or night.

Strong winds are likely in the Hambantota, Trincomalee districts and on the western slopes of the Central Highlands, North, North Central and North Western Provinces and the general public is requested to take necessary measures to minimize the damage caused by lightning and winds.
