AG vows strict enforcement against any offender, be it inmates or prison officers

Attorney General Dappula de Livera said he would strictly enforce the law on any offender in the prison system, be it inmates or prison officers. 

 

Addressing the gathering at the  Center for Research and Training in Corrections of the Welikasa Prison premises on June 19, he stated that there are corrupted prison officers in the  prison system which is a faliure and noted that he would support the call to establish a legal department in the Department of Prisons.
