2020 General Election : SLPP secures victory in Matara District with 6 seats

The National Election Commission has released the final cumulative results of the Matara District.

 

Accordingly,  Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has reportedly secured a sweeping victory in the Matara District with  352,217 votes (73.63%) while winning 06 seats.

 

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second, polling 72,740 votes (15.21%) , giving them  only 1 seat from the district.

 

In the meantime, Jathika Jana Balawegaya (JJB) emerged  third with 37,136 votes (7.76%) while the United National Party (UNP) managed to secure the fourth place with 7,631 votes (1.60%).
