17,000 pornographic videos online in 42 days

Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said that during an operation carried out by the Sri Lanka Police Computer Unit, 17,629 child pornography and photographs were released on the internet during the period from July 17 to 28.

He further stated that information has been obtained about people who post such obscene images and photos on social media and that they will be investigated and arrested.

 The DIG said that a special program will be launched from today to search for those who posted the footage on the internet.
