17 year old girl, victim of alleged abuse, dies in ICU

A 17-year-old girl who was abused  at the hands of a 24 year old man, had died on July 8 while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Balangoda Base Hospital.

 

Police said that the victim was to be enrolled to a new school to pursue Advanced Level education and has visited a tailor to sew new uniforms on the 5th of July. 

 

As the victim did not return home in the evening, the relatives had lodged a complaint with police. 

 

Upon discovering her unconscious body in a house that belonged to the said 24 year old suspect, she had been taken to the hospital where she died in the intensive care unit.
