Over 150 contacts of Jinthupitiya COVID-19 case sent for quarantine

The Government Information Department said that nearly 154 contacts of the Covid-19 patient who was detected from Jinthupitiya in Colombo 13, were moved from the area and sent to the Kandakadu qaurantine centre for mandatory quarantine.

 

Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe has confirmed that there is no risk of COVID-19 transmitting from the said patient to the community. 

 

Furthermore, the COVID-19 patient who was hospitalized upon diagnosis yesterday (July 2), is a Sri Lankan who has returned from India.
