Bluesky expands to the world’s most popular operating system; Android

Good news for Android fans from Bluesky. The social network founded by Jack Dorsey, former chief executive of Twitter; has finally made Bluesky available for testing on Android.
This Wednesday (19) the application was released on the Google Play Store allowing more users eligible for the closed beta to have access to the platform in the beta phase after its availability was limited to iOS.
With its expansion to the world’s most popular operating system, the users tried to reach the new platform and found that still need an invite to access the closed beta. However, the debut of Bluesky on Android indicates that its public release may occur soon.
Jack Dorsey assumed the CEO position of Twitter in 2015 but left in 2021 and he began to resume projects he had for the Bluebird social network in 2019, transforming them into a completely new platform.
Twitter and Bluesky share common similarities though Bluesky stands out for being a more decentralized platform as all information shared on the social network is stored on independent servers which are not owned by the company that developed it.
This allows the users to keep privacy over their own data. Bluesky is believed to be one of the new social networks vying for popularity.
