A stock of expired artificial flavours seized in a shop

A stock of expired artificial flavours used for flavouring food was found and seized in a shop at Maradana Technical Junction.

 

The senior investigation officer, B.S.U.P. Perera of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) carried out the raid according to a complaint over the storage of expired food items.

 

Reportedly, the stock had been expired in the years 2020 and 2021 and they have been used only for flavouring the food items but not to be sold in the shops. The officer emphasized a case that will be filed next week, against the owner of the shop.
