Don't pick up debris from the Sinking Ship

The Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) Chairperson Dharshani Lahandapura has warned people on the coastline not to meddle with debris coming from the distressed MV ‘X-PRESS PEARL’ which has had an explosion on board.
Although the Navy struggled to put off the fire had escalated owing to strong winds. Meanwhile, eight cargo containers have fallen into the sea. The debris may include toxic material warned environmentalist. The containers are carrying chemicals, and it could cause respiratory issues and burns if anyone tries to pick them up.
