Canadian woman arrested with Rs. 170 Mn worth of hashish

A Canadian woman was arrested by Sri Lanka Customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) while attempting to smuggle over 17 kilograms of hashish, valued at more than Rs. 170 million, Customs said.

 

The suspect was apprehended during a routine inspection, during which officers uncovered the large quantity of the illicit substance concealed in her luggage. 

 

The narcotics were seized, and the woman was taken into custody for further investigations.
