One dead, 726 affected by adverse weather

One person died due to a lightning strike and 726 people from 178 families have been affected in five districts due to the prevailing adverse weather, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.

 

The people were affected due to heavy rain, lightning, strong winds in Galle, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Moneragala and Jaffna.

 

According to the DMC, one was injured due to heavy rain in Ratnapura and 177 houses were partially damaged.
