Elephant Sita transferred to Kandy

Steps have been taken to transfer the elephant Sita who received gunshot injuries, for further treatment to Kandy.

 

Senior Prof. Asoka Dangolla of the Veterinary Faculty of Peradeniya University, providing treatment to the injured elephant said, several pieces of pellets in her body were removed through surgery.

 

Prof. Dangolla said the elephant was dispatched to a location at Kiribathkumbura in Kandy yesterday afternoon for further treatment.
