Number of people affected by adverse weather increasing

The number of people affected due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions has increased to 644 from 164 families, the Disaster Management Centre said.

 

While issuing the situation report for today, the department said the highest number of people affected are from the Ratnapura district, with 594 people from 151 families. Most of the people (232 from 60 families) in the Ratnapura district were affected by the flood.

 

Accordingly, 36 houses were partially damaged. However, no injuries or deaths have been reported so far.
