The deceased body of a 16-year-old girl is discovered

A schoolgirl’s naked body has been discovered near a railway track behind a five-story hotel in Main Street Kalutara. According to Kalutara South Police, the body was discovered last night (06) and was identified as a 16-year-old resident of the Nagoda area in Kalutara.

 

The police investigations have revealed that the deceased girl had come to the hotel with another young couple and a young man last afternoon and rented two rooms on the third floor of the hotel. The ones who had accompanied the girl had already left the hotel before the body of the deceased girl was recovered.

 

The other couple have been already arrested but the young man who stayed with the girl is yet to be apprehended. Kalutara South Police are conducting further investigations to ascertain if this is a case of homicide.
