3 murders within the last 24 hours from several areas

Within the last 24 hours, 3 murders have been reported in the country. Firstly, in the Hasalaka Police division, a 49-year-old man had been killed allegedly by his brother-in-law in the Ambagahapalassa area. The cause of the incident has been found as a personal dispute. The suspect was arrested and further investigations are carried out.

 

The second incident is reported from Mihintale Police Division where a 51-year-old woman was reported killed. Before the incident, the woman is suspected to be raped by a 47-year-old man living in a nearby village. Further interrogation and investigations are being conducted to identify the suspect.

 

Another murder has been reported around Wellawaya Police Division on Saturday. According to reports, a man has stabbed and killed a man due to a long-standing dispute. The deceased person is believed to be 32 years old when he died. The incident has taken place on Saturday night in the Wellawaya Police Division and the victim succumbed to injuries after admitting to the Monaragala Hospital.
