The expressway generates Rs.35 million within 24 hours

Yesterday alone, the expressway generated a revenue of almost Rs. 35 million, according to The Road Development Authority (RDA).

 

The total number of vehicles that used the expressway during the 24-hour period within April 15th was 126,760 which produced a total revenue of Rs. 34,974,100, according to RDA Director General L.V.S. Weerakoon.

 

The average number of vehicles that uses the expressways is around 90,000 per day, while the total income generated per day is nearly Rs. 25 million. 

 

Ms. Weerakoon further stated that the number of road accidents during this New Year is relatively reduced in comparison to the other previous years.
