Cash Rs.7.8mn robbed from private bank ATM

Cash amounting to Rs.7.8 million has been stolen from the ATM of a private sector bank in Nittambuwa town.

 

The management of the bank has lodged a complaint to the Nittambuwa police. Investigations revealed that the ATM had not been damaged in any way and that the machine had been opened, the cash removed and then it had been closed.

 

Police said it is yet to be confirmed whether an organized group or any individuals in the bank is involved in the robbery. 

 

Nittambuwa police are conducting further investigations.
