New revenue license system from today

The new system for issuing motor vehicle revenue licenses will be implemented today (7), the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) said.

 

They said the new programme, motor vehicle revenue licenses can be obtained from home through the online system.

 

"People do not need to visit the Provincial Divisional Secretariats. They can obtain their revenue licenses from anywhere in the country," the DMT said.

 

This programme will be implemented in all provinces except the Western Province.

 

The Technology State Ministry and the Information and Communication Technology Association of Sri Lanka will jointly implement the programme.

 

However, necessary arrangements are being made to extend the programme to all government institutions and to make payments 100 percent through the online system by March next year.
