Vocational training for students after A/L, O/L exams this year - Minister

Professional vocational training courses are to be held for the students who sit for the GCE Aavanced Level (A/L) examination immediately after the examination is over, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.

 

While joining the centenary celebrations of Zahira Vidyalaya, Ginthota yesterday, he said arrangements have been made to hold these courses in training centres across the country.

 

"These vocational training courses will also be started for the students sitting for the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations which will be held in the future.

 

He also said that more than 50% of the students expected to sit for the A/L and O/L examinations will participate in this vocational training course," he said.

 

The Minister further said that Cabinet approval has been obtained for the relevant Cabinet Paper on this.
